The title race is on! It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting Premier League run-ins in years as Arsenal’s pounced on a below par Liverpool yesterday to stay in the hunt.
The Gunners win also handed Manchester City a boost, the reigning champions can claim top spot if they win their two games in hand. The first of which is tonight at Brentford and the Citizens show no signs of slipping up.
Ominously for their challengers City seem to be moving up the gears and close to full strength with the return of Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland who is expected to start tonight. The Norwegian is 8/13 to get back among the goals.
Pep’s men are unbeaten in 11 (W10 D1) in all competitions since a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa in early December. But the Bees stung City last season, twice in fact, winning at both the Etihad and on their own patch.
Man City have had to come from behind to win each of their last three away league matches and it’s 11/2 that they do so again tonight. Brentford have lost three of their last five games despite taking the lead.
Brentford’s last six outings have finished 2-3, 3-2, 2-3 (AET), 1-1, 1-3, 1-4 so we could see a glut of goals again. Ivan Toney has scored in each of his two games since returning from an 8-month ban and the England internationalist is 13/5 to net again tonight.
Over 2.5 goals is skinny at 1/2 but Over 3.5 isn’t out the question at 6/5. Combine that with an away win for a 15/8 poke.
