Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

STENHOUSEMUIR have once again over-performed this season and they look a tasty price to get the better of crisis club Hamilton Accies at 7/4 with McBookie.com.

The Lanarkshire club's many problems reached a new low last week as they were turfed out of the Scottish Cup at neighbours Airdrie in a 4-0 hammering.

That saw manager John Rankin quit after the final whistle as he revealed he had spent the day before chasing up wages for his players from the financially-stricken and homeless club.

It would take far too long to list Accies' many problems, but suffice to say their off-field shambles look like they will get a whole lot worse soon.

In fairness, on the pitch, they have been doing ok, but Stenny are in great form.

Gary Naysmith seems to get little in the way of recognition for the job he's done at Larbert, but they have enjoyed another fine campaign.

They have won their last two games 4-1 – at Peterhead in the league and against high-flying Highland League club Clach in the Scottish Cup and have lost just once in their last ten matches.

And Stenny seem overpriced as we aim to build on last week's nap.

Edinburgh City v Dumbarton prediction

There's a battle between two teams who were embarrassed in the Scottish Cup last week and Edinburgh City can get the better of Dumbarton in League Two.

The capital side were knocked out by non-league Camelon, but they could genuinely claim to have been unlucky after dominating and hitting the woodwork umpteen times.

No such excuses for the Sons who were battered 4-0 at home by juniors legends Auchinleck Talbot and axed long-serving manager Stevie Farrell this week.

Edinburgh claimed a point at East Kilbride before then and face a Dumbarton side who have lost their last four games in a row and conceded four goals in both of their last two games.

Back the Citizens to get the three points at Meadowbank at McBookie.com's 6/5.

Ayr United v Partick Thistle prediction

Game of the day in Scotland may well be Rangers' trip to Kilmarnock, but there's a cracker of a gae in the Championship.

Partick Thistle are going great guns and are worth a punt at a big price of 17/10 to win at Ayr United with McBookie.com.

The Jags have stormed up the table to go level on points with St Johnstone in the Championship after just one defeat in their last dozen games.

They've already defeated Ayr twice this term in the league and League Cup and Mark Wilson has assembled a side who are well-organised and full of spirit.

Ayr have won just two of their seven home league games too.
