Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

ST MIRREN have improved markedly from a sluggish start to the season and look a massive price at 23/10 to win at Dundee United this week.

The Saints put an end to Aberdeen's unbeaten league record last week with a 2-1 win and that was a culmination of a recent upturn in form that has seen them surge into the top six again.

Stephen Robinson has had to deal with various off-field issues this season involving their players and he's still managed to guide them to three wins and a draw in their last four games.

Hibs, St Johnstone and Aberdeen have all been seen off and their confidence must be sky high with Toyosi Olusanya netting his seventh goal of the season against the Dons.

United have won plenty of praise both for their form this season since their promotion and their draw at Ibrox last week, but they had a lot to thank busy keeper Jack Walton for last week, who had an outstanding game.

And Saints just look too big here with McBookie.com.

It's Scottish Cup week again and there's no apologies for picking Partick Thistle again to win an all-Championship clash at Hampden against Queen's Park.

The Jags have been in fine form recently with four wins in their last five games. One of those was also against the Spiders at Hampden when they edged them out in a 1-0 victory.

Queen's Park were outplayed at home by Falkirk last week and really should have gone down to a heavier defeat than the eventual 1-0 scoreline.

They have problems scoring and they are up against a solid Jags defence.

As stated recently, Thistle are hitting form and they can make it three defeats in a row for their hosts in a Glasgow derby at a very decent 5/4 with McBookie.com.

If there is to be a Scottish Cup shock, it could come at Fraserburgh when they host Annan Athletic at Bellslea Park.

The Broch are eighth in the Highland League, but too many draws have cost them a higher spot.

They will relish a crack at the struggling League One side after winning four of their last five games.

Annan have won just one of their last seven games and are poor travellers – they have lost their last seven league away games.

And the hosts are worth a crack here at 4/1.
