BRAZIL haven't found top gear and without Neymar would have struggled through Group A.

They are under massive pressure to go all the way and the more defensive style instilled in them by Felipe Scolari has its critics but home advantage is still a factor.

Chile have been superb and pleasing on the eye but have a rotten recent record against Brazil – losing eight of the last nine.

So while Chile have performed better so far my gut feeling is Brazil will edge this one but best bet could be to go for goals.

Both teams to score pays 5-6 at McBookie and Ladbrokes and over 2.5 goals is 3-4 at McBookie. Over 3.5 must also have a chance at 2-1 with the same firm.

Bookies have basically written off Chile with McBookie going as big as 21-4 which means anyone who fancies them can have 7-5 at bet365 on the underdogs not to lose.

I wouldn't discourage anyone thinking about backing Chile and I plan to have a small wager which I will lay off if they take the lead. That's a good covering bet as I'll be on Brazil to win.

Neymar is first-scorer favourite at 7-2 at William Hill and 7-5 to net at any time and I'll be on both.

Chile should score with the likes of Arturo Vidal, Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez likely to give the hosts plenty to think about.

Brazil keeper Julio Cesar's handling skills look dodgy and David Luiz has been playing like … well David Luiz. Full-backs Marcelo and Dani Alves give up plenty of chances and if Thiago Silva was missing they'd struggle at the back.

So the likes of Neymar, Oscar and Hulk will have to do the business in the forward areas because a Brazil clean sheet is as unlikely as Suarez saying sorry for biting Chiellini.

The game screams over 2.5 goals and hopefully it will be a cracker.

If im having a small stake bet on Chile then I fancy Chile and BTTS 9/1 Bet365. Insane odds

Again I’d agree with Neymar first goal. William Hill refunding losing first scorer bets up to £50 if he scores second.

So the advice is “I’m backing Brazil but betting on Chile.”
No doubt you’ll tell us tomorrow that you were on a winner…..

Lyall, that comment comes from someone who knows nothing about betting. I’ve tipped Brazil to win but the Chile price is too big. I’m partially covering my Brazil bet with a back to lay on Chile which means if Chile score first or even get to 30-40 minutes level I’ll be able to lay for a profit. If you read my post it’s pretty clear.

Neymar is 4/1 now with Ladbrokes

    BRAZIL VS CHILE TIPS

I agree with Mr Fixit and many others and can see this as a high scoring game. I’m also backing Neymar for first goal as well as backing attacking defender Dani Alves to find the net. He doesn’t score loads but does find the bet on occasions, 6 goals from 78 international appearances.

    Recommended Bets:

Neymar First Goal @ 4/1 Ladbrokes
Alves to score anytime @ 11/1 Ladbrokes
    Brazil 3-3 @ 90/1 VC
    Brazil 4-3 @ 200/1 VC

    Brazil v chilli

    Goal scorer

    Aranguiz
    Anytime 8/1
    First goal 25/1

The chile midfielder is not a prolific goal scorer but he gets a goal every now and then.
    9 goals in 2014
3 goals for his country including one against Spain this World Cup.

    Chile to win 1-0!

Chris neymar is 4/1 with ladbrokes and u get stakes returned on losing bets if brazil win in 90minutes.

Mr.F i took chile on the double chance (17/13) on a last 16 acca as i think it could go either way in the 90mins. What i do think though is if it did go to extra time I can see brazil nicking it. Bet would also be in so happy days. Also think it could be a high scoring game what do u think of chile @ 16/1 for a win and 4 or more goals? Surely worth a wee £2 stake?

Luiz first goal in 18 minutes and 1-1 full time with a beautiful sunny day 125/1 Ladbrokes

anyone else have sanchez 1st goal?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Liam, PA have given it to Luiz so unless they change that’s who bookies will go on. It’s not clearcut at all and Luiz could have had a slight touch.
