It was a big risk going backing the Lucinda Russell runner, and it didn't work out.
The partnered trainership of Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore has had a horrid time of things, but I wanted to give their runner a chance. Like most of their runners in recent times, From The Clouds finished tailed off.
He didn't jump badly, and didn't go badly through the race. But, when he was headed, he found little for pressure and went backwards clearly. Lesson learnt!
Fenland Tiger 10/1 (1pt) – Wetherby 3.21
Fenland Tiger is getting on in age and is out of form based on his last couple of runs. Connections are opting for the first time heagear to spruce him up, and if that works its magic, he is dangerous as the outsider of the field.
He has run well once this season, so it shows the ability is still there. He was second to Anglers Crag, who was on a good handicap mark, so it was a decent effort.
This horse is best on a testing surface, so the rain at Wetherby should turn this into a real stamina test. A couple of years ago, he won on heavy ground over 3m at Newcastle in a Class 3. The form of that race worked out later in that season, with the runner-up finishing as the runner-up in the Eider Chase.
That win for Fenland Tiger was off a 4lb higher mark than today's handicap mark, so if the headgear works the trick, he is on a dangerous handicap mark.
There is a reason he is the price he is, as it's not a bad race and he is out of form. However, the market principles are climbing the handicap and might find themselves on tough enough marks now, so that is why I'm taking a chance on Sam England's ten-year-old.
Wetherby has an early morning inspection due to the amount of rain they've had in recent days, so hopefully, the meeting gets the green light.

Hi everyone. I’ve noticed in recent months the site has become much quieter, I’m hoping it will pick up now Cheltenham is on the horizon.

Titchmh I’ve said the same a few times and asked the question as to why the thread is like this now.
Obviously it’s been terrible with only a handful of contributors diving in and outat whereas it was constant tips/pointers and just some good chat from regulars almost daily.
