Thursday’s Racing Tips – Drash On Ruby can shed her maiden at Wincanton

Rizz took a gamble when backing Patrick Neville's Fusain, and despite running okay throughout the race, his effort dwindled out as they entered the business end. 

I've had an update from the guys above regarding the Cheltenham content. I will advise you all tomorrow night about what will happen throughout next week's big festival.

Cairnzy's Tips

Drash On Ruby 10/3 – Wincanton 4.50

Unfortunately, I've backed this particular horse the last two times it has run, but I feel a first win is just around the corner. She has progressed well with each run despite not getting her head in front.

On paper, there doesn't appear to be much pace on offer in this contest, which should suit my selection well as she tends to be ridden quite prominently from the front.

Aggressive front-running tactics were used last time out at Taunton when she nearly made all, but the line didn't come in time as she was eventually railed in by the odds-on-favourite who rallied well in the straight-to-mow my selection down.

Drash On Ruby went down by half a length to the now 116-rated Badbury Rings, who look like a progressive sort from the Neil Mulholland yard. I think the form of that half-length defeat reads well, given the selection is rated considerably lower than that horse, and that was only Drash On Ruby's first crack over three miles.

My selection seemed to enjoy the step up in trip last time out, and given she is completely unexposed in that sphere and open to further improvement, she could take some pegging back if getting into a rhythm.
