Sunday’s Racing Tips – Running Lion will avenge her defeat from twelve months ago in the Dahlia Stakes

Unfortunately, I will not be able to do a recap of Saturday's racing as this thread is being completed in the morning and I am out for the rest of the day. 

Running Lion 2/1 – Newmarket 2.20

Running Lion is a bit of an enigma, as she is either hot or cold, with a very rare in between. With the way that the Gosden yard is firing in winners at present, I'm taking a chance that she will be on a going day and can land this Group 2 that she tried to win last year.

Runnig Lion's best form in recent times has come on testing ground, which is a surprise given her Sire was the complete opposite, but she is effective on a quicker surface, so I believe that today's ground will not be disadvantageous towards her chance of winning this decent Group 2, before having more tilts at Group 1 glory later in the season.

There are some good quality fillies turning up for this race, so Running Lion will have to be on her A-game, as we have last year's 1000 Guineas winner and a couple of Godolphin runners who always have to be respected. However, I feel like the runner-up finish in the Group 1 at Longchamp during the latter stages of last season behind her stablemate is the best form on offer.
