Rizz has left Cairnzy in charge of Sunday's racing. Rizz will return on Sunday evening with his selections for Monday's card.
Rizz had three selections on Saturday, but unfortunately, he walked away empty-handed. I didn’t catch any racing on Saturday besides the 2000 Guineas contest at Newmarket. I did catch up with Rizz regarding his selections, and from what I was told, they weren’t exactly up to much.
Precise 9/4 – Newmarket 3.35
I’ve opted to take Precise to land the 1000 Guineas for trainer Aiden O’Brien and jockey Ryan Moore.
Similar to the beginning of last season's flat term, Aiden has started off quite slowly, with his runners tending to need a run or two before getting going.
His yard has started to get into the flow of things of late, operating at a 26% SR in the last 14 days. With that said, I think this could be the time to get on Precise, who looks to have a really solid chance of adding another victory to her already impressive CV. 9/4 looks a fair price as well and one that I’m more than happy to get involved with, despite the competitiveness of the race.
I was and still am a huge fan of this horse. My selection seemed to improve bundles for each run last term, with the pick of her form probably coming from her win in the fillies' mile last time out at this very same venue. I glanced through the form angles of other fancied horses and that was by far the best piece of form on offer in my own personal opinion.
Precise won the fillies' mile last time out by three and a quarter lengths. It was a very impressive performance, and she seemingly had a bit to spare on that occasion. I’m sure we will see this filly over further at some stage, but knowing she stays the trip well is a massive positive.
