Ben Jones on Indemnity looked like he couldn't be bothered approaching the last hurdle.

He was sitting on the horse like he thought he had the race in the bag, when in reality he was about half a length down to the eventual winner.

What was going on inside his head, I'll never know, but it's always confusing when a jockey does stuff like that.

The other runner on the day was horrific. I am not sure why the De Bromhead horse never got into a rhythm, but he jumped like a snooker table and had no chance from a very early stage.

Over the last few nights it has been the Breeders' Cup meeting. If you're into your American racing, which I know a couple of you are, let us know the winners you've had.

As Fast As Wind 7/2 (1pt) – Huntingdon 12.48

Claiming races aren't types of races I ever really get involved in from a betting standpoint. They are far too dodgy, and the usual suspects for winning don't usually win, even when they're favourably treated at the weights.

However, when dissecting this race, I thought As Fast As Wind had a solid chance at the bottom of the weights.

Daisy Hitchins' five-year-old has been in good form this year on the flat and over hurdles. He managed to win last time out at Kempton in a Class 4 handicap, pulling away at the finish.

That win was definitely justified, and it wasn't a surprise given he went off as the favourite.

The time before he was third at Fontwell. The winner has won another race since, and the runner-up has gone close on his next start.

Robbie David claims 7lbs, and he seems great value for the claim. His claim allows As Fast As Wind to run off ten stone at the bottom of the weights.

Pure Carbon 5/2 (1pt) – Huntingdon 2.55

The form of Pure Carbon hasn't been franked by the winner of the Chepstow race earlier last month, but it was a solid effort on chasing debut.

Harry Derham has hit the ground running this season. He had a solid strike rate last year. This season, he is operating at a 33% strike rate. In the last fortnight, he has had five winners from eleven runners.

Considering that it was his first ever run over fences, and it was his first start in over 200 days, I think you can say that was a solid start.

Harry does very well with his chasers, and he manages to improve his hurdlers over fences, which makes him a solid bet against the course specialist No Risk With Lou.
