The meeting at Pontefract was a punters nightmare with some strange results popping up. My main selection Federal Envoy looked home and dry when heading into the final couple of furlongs. He was trading at 1/5 in play at one point but all of a sudden hung drastically to the right, throwing the race away in the process. Vintage Clarets was weak in the betting and ran a stinker while Kings Coronation could only manage second place after running green for half the race.
Wednesdays racing is poor with only two meetings to choose from within the UK and only one horse stood out to me as a bet. It's quite a short price but I'm hoping he will get the job done.
Eye Of Dubai 5/4 – 3:25 Catterick
Eye Of Dubai is a bit on the short side in terms of price but looks the one to beat in my opinion.
Raced twice last year and finishing second on both occasions Eye Of Dubai was a tad unlucky to not find himself in the winners enclosure.
He takes a step up in trip tomorrow which is likely to suit and this looks like an decent opportunity to get his head in front in what looks a more than winnable race.
Tomorrows forecast ground at Catterick is currently on the soft side which shouldn't be an issue for my selection as his previous runs last season at Redcar and Chester were on soft and good to soft ground which he ran well on, on both outings.
Elemental Eye was one who I thought could be a danger as he wasn't disgraced on debut but probably needs to improve a fair bit to get the upper hand on Eye Of Dubai.

Spes militurf and uncheckable renew a recent rivalry where spes militurf won by a neck off today’s terms so should be close up again.
Imperil won a hurdle last month so should be fit.
He won a chase on this day last year at auteuil and that was a prep run for the big one next month (the grand Prix de Paris/french gold cup) where he finished a very respectable 4th with spes militurf behind and also behind noble yeats who we all know stays forever.
The 3 horses today I’ve mentioned are all closely matched so should be a good race.
