On Saturday, we see the return of the Cheltenham December meeting. I've picked out horses at that track on the main thread, and with nothing else standing out, I've gone elsewhere for the Lucky bet.

Romeo Brown 4/1 – Doncaster 1.30

At the age of eleven, it's very easy to believe that Romeo Brown will not back up his impressive course and distance win last time out at the back end of November.

However, I see it in a different way. His handicap mark was dropping, and the fact that they've managed to find the key to him again, they should strike while he is hot.

The trainers have been in fantastic form over the last month, and despite this horse not being the pick of one of the main jockeys, he is still my selection.

There's no reason to remove Oscar Palmer from the saddle as he rode him last time out. He has gone up 6lbs, but Oscar is able to claim 7lbs this time around, so he is better off than last time out.

Williethebuilder 5/1 – Doncaster 3.17

On Williethebuilder's stable debut for Christian Williams at Wetherby, he was a selection for me.

In typical Christian Williams style, if the horse isn't fancied, they drift out. This is what happened to this horse. He was tipped up at around 15/8, but drifted out to 8/1.

Despite the drift, I saw the ability with this horse and thought that it was a matter of when he would get his head in front again.

I noticed he was running last time out, but since I've been avoiding this yard, I decided to leave him alone. He went off at 33/1 and massively outran his odds. It looks like his turn is soon, so he makes the Lucky 15 bet.

A Perfect Day 3/1 – Lingfield 2.32

As mentioned in the main thread for Saturday, I really like Ben Clarke as a jumps trainer, so you will see a fair few of his selections from me this season.

I've got one up on the main thread, but I'm putting up another in the form of A Perfect Day.

This horse is making his second handicap start, but they are now going up in trip to just short of three miles. Ben Clarke is very clued up, and I get the impression this horse could be well-handicapped, especially with the jockey taking off 5lbs.

Superstylin 4/1 – Lingfield 3.10

I am a big fan of jockey bookings on horses. Whenever a stable jockey avoids a ride at Cheltenham on a horse he won on last time out for a ride at a smaller track, I think you've got to pay attention to that.

Freddie Gordon is one of the best young jockeys in the jumps weighing room. He rides 95% of his dad's horses, so seeing him dodge a ride at Cheltenham is eye-catching. Instead, he has opted to go to Lingfield to ride Superstylin in a much lower race.

The form of his last run looks solid, and if he's in a similar vein of form, he should be going very close at the very least in today's race.
