My sole selection on Wednesday was very disappointing and never looked like landing a blow. Jimih was ridden out the back and didn't seem to be traveling throughout. I was disappointed with the run but when you tip up a horse in a race of that quality then I can't say I'm surprised either.
I've concentrated on the meetings at Ripon and Lingfield for my two selections on Thursday.
Loyal Touch 10/3 – Ripon 4:20
I thought Loyal Touch was of interest in this contest. He recently ran in the York Dante Festival a couple of weeks ago which saw him finish seventh, five and a quarter lengths of the eventual winner Botanical who I tipped up to win the race that day. Finishing seventh on paper doesn't look all that impressive, but when you consider how impressive Botanical was that day, the finishing margin doesn't look all that bad.
Previous to the York outing, Loyal Touch finished second at Chester behind Tony Montana. He only lost out by half a length that day and the form has since received a boost with Tony Montana winning again last Sunday. This contest represents a drop back in class and with a handy draw in stall one, I fully expect a positive ride from Joe Fanning.
Wannabe Brave 3/1 – Lingfield 2:20
I think Wannabe Brave holds every chance in this contest of landing the hat-trick. My selection has dropped down the ratings in recent times, having been rated as high as 65 in 2022. He won a handicap in October 2022 and from that win, his form dipped, having not won a race in roughly a year and a half.
He seems to have turned a corner this season, winning his last two races at Wolverhampton and Lingfield, finally taking advantage of a drop in grade and a reduced mark.
I took a quick look at his previous run at Chelmsford last week. He missed the break at the start but once he caught up lost ground he made steady headway to lead inside the final furlong and win by a length. My selection escapes a penalty for that Chelmsford success as it was an apprentice handicap, so he comes here with an unchanged mark, making him a key player.
Oisin Murphy takes the ride, he rode Wannabe Brave on his return to form at Wolverhampton which is a positive.

Not coming to be negative as I’ve been pretty much a silent supporter of this group for as long as I can remember now. I’ve recently come back to check people’s picks etc and looks like everyone from the comment section has left? Used to be some excellent knowledge in the comments can anyone explain why?
Also I think it’s a big issue if you put your tips up the night before like you did yesterday. As your one selection went from loving the ground to not going on it and that was due to rain overnight and morning. Just a little thought as you could see in the first couple furlongs it had to be ridden to try keep up with the pace. Hope everyone is all good and hopefully can get the comment section booming again, good luck with your picks today!
Tips have been posted the night before on this thread for years.
The reason is to allow people to get on selections early in the chance they shorten. E.g loyal touch todays selection is into 5/2 and I posted at 10/3.
In regards to the comments section, I can’t comment on why some of the familiar faces have gone quiet, DC, ThePlug and BUSSTOP come and go.
Most of those guys prefer the jumps to the flat which could be another reason.
When you ask for an explanation into why people have left it is a negative comment.
People are free to do as they please.
It’s a free to view and free to post thread and no one should feel like they are obliged to post regularly.
DC, bus stop and the plug will be back when they feel there is racing worth getting involved in I’m sure.
To be honest the quality of racing is shite right now and low grade racing as we know is full of horses who are unreliable and throw in the handicap fiddling that is rife in this low grade stuff and it’s a toxic mix as far as punters are concerned.
Plenty of championship racing to come soon with epsom, royal Ascot etc where every horse is actually sent out to win 🤣 so hopefully these guys will be back then.
There are other forums out there, I skirt round them every day to see who fancies what for a consensus. Which can be helpful ????
Yeah that’s true but also your selection yesterday drifted to 9/1 at one point but I suppose there’s pros and cons.
Yeah maybe 🤷♂️ hopefully they come back soon as there was some excellent and consistent picks from those guys!

I’ve followed this group for many years now and it used to thrive with a great comments section. All I did is ask where everyone has gone as I came back about two weeks ago and there was next to no comments on any racing. I’ve been met by snotty replies to anybody asking a simple question and I’ve seen it on the other posts over the two weeks. Maybe this is the reason why? Just because people are asking a simple question doesn’t mean bad intentions. Just have a normal conversation and stop being so rude! I’m asking simple questions, don’t need to be met by comments like that, just say the reason why and everyone can know.
I genuinely have no idea why they left, I’m asking as maybe there’s another group and this isn’t used as much? Maybe I need to pay to enter another group? Maybe these people don’t comment at this time of the year? How’s asking a simple question a negative comment? I can see why they’ve all left and I won’t be commenting again either. Cairnzy and elvis (sticking your nose in) need to take a long hard look in the mirror as to why the groups gone to pot! Maybe then you’ll realise why it was booming with 100s of comments back in the day with everyone having a laugh and cheering on smashing the bookies.

The above comments are not from Data, he has been permanently banned from the site for some time now.
He’s created multiple accounts recently and still tries to comment but they go straight into the bin before even making it live.
He’s been slandering me for over 2 months now, I can see his attempted comments but I”ll not even go down that road. I’m surprised he still tries to comment when he knows they never make it onto the page.
He’s a proper walking question mark that one, nasty piece of work. On the other hand, it’s a pity, I’ve had some debates with him over the years and I don’t question that he knows his racing. Just unfortunate that he can’t come on, post his selections and reasoning and get on with everyone.

I really rate database’s knowledge of racing when he is focussed on the racing side.
