Saturday saw us land a 21/1 double with both selections winning nicely.
Saturdays tend to be the hardest day of the week for punting and it was nice not to be on the receiving end of the bookie's battering stick for a change. Congratulations to those in the comments who also called some nice winners.
I've only one selection for Sunday and I'm hoping it's worth the wait as it's from the evening meeting at Newcastle.
King's Lynn 6/1 – Newcastle 7:00
This horse has cost me more money than gained over the last couple of years, but he has dropped to a handy enough mark, and as a result, is worthy of a small bet at the prices in this wide-open contest.
King’s Lynn is probably the most interesting runner in this field given he makes his first all-weather start having only been raced on the turf during his career.
King’s Lynn was once rated as high as 111 after winning the Group Two Temple Stakes a few years ago. I mentioned above that he cost me a few quid over the years, I backed him on multiple occasions after that victory but he never really seemed to push on or at the very least, remain competitive at that level.
Due to going off the boil over the last couple of years, King’s Lynn started the current campaign on a mark of 97, which was reduced by a further 3lb after finishing a remote 9th of 11 at Bath in April.
He showed on his next outing that he could be competitive with his new mark of 94 as he took a step back in the right direction when going down by a neck to Jack Channon's Desperate Hero.
That run was over the 5f trip and Sunday's contest sees him step back up a furlong which I feel is his optimum. Oisin Murphy takes over from Callum Hutchinson who rode him last time, which is a positive.

This win, though a close run thung boosts that form line ahead of tomorrow’s french 1000 Guinness.

Rose bloom had a blowout recently in a group 3 and should be match fit and has stall 1 which is worth a couple of pound in itself
