Alan Thomson has four Saturday sizzlers over the jumps at Sandown and Ayr which will be shown as part of ITV's Racing Coverage.
Like most of the stable’s horses, Ibleo handles the deep ground which is forecast.
DO YOUR JOB (2.25) represents a bit of each-way value to beat warm favourite Metier in the Unibet Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle. Metier has won both starts for Harry Fry, making all to score with something in hand at Ascot in November. He could be star material but this is his sternest test to date. Do Your Job ran into fast-improving Llandinabo Lad at Haydock last time but lost little in defeat. His earlier wide-margin Ayr victory was made to look even better when runner-up Cadzand landed some big bets for Dan and Harry Skelton at Kempton last week. If all eight runners stand their ground, Do Your Job will be hard to knock out of the frame at odds of around 6-1.
CROSSPARK (3.00) has twice hit the crossbar at Sandown recently and is fancied to feature prominently once again in the veterans’ chase over three miles. The gelding finished runner-up in the 2019 Scottish Grand National, so has stamina in abundance, and the track will ride very testing. With 17 runners declared, William Hill offers six places each-way. Last year’s winner Jepeck has been pulled up on both starts this campaign and a more likely type is Lucy Wadham’s Cheltenham runner-up Potters Legend.
At Ayr, ILLEGAL MODEL (2.40) can give champion jockey Brian Hughes a winning ride in the three-mile handicap hurdle. Charlie Longsdon’s gelding shaped well in fifth behind Portrush Ted at Sandown last time and ploughed through the mud to score at Lingfield last January. The ground will be bottomless and Illegal Model can outbattle consistent mare, Big Penny.
