After a quiet week due to the international break, the Football Bet of the Day returns on Saturday and sees me head to the English Championship, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Hull City will look to strengthen their position in the playoff places on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Loftus Road to take on mid-table QPR in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Julien Stephan’s hosts have scored 17 goals across their opening 15 Championship fixtures this season, with eight (47%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The R’s have failed to score just three times in the Championship this season – including in 6/7 (86%) of them at their West London base – and will look to trouble a Hull defence that has kept just two clean sheets since the opening day of the season, with only the two struggling Sheffield clubs shipping more than the 24 they have let in.
Sergej Jakirovic’s hosts are the joint second-highest scorers in the Championship, firing in 26 goals across their opening 15 matches, with 11 (42%) coming on their travels.
The Tigers have found the back of the net in each of their previous 12 Championship contests – scoring 2+ goals in an impressive eight (67%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a QPR backline that has kept just four clean sheets in the league this season, shipping eight goals across their last three matches at home.

After a goalless draw on the opening day of the season away at leaders Coventry City, Hull’s next 14 Championship contests have averaged an eye-catching 3.57 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 11 (79%) of them, including in five of their last six away from home (2-4, 2-2, 1-2, 3-2, 2-0 & 1-2)
What’s more, this fixture tends to produce goals, with 13 of the previous 15 meetings between the two sides seeing Over 2.5 Goals land – including both clashes last season – and I like the look of that trend continuing in West London on Saturday afternoon.
