After making it back-to-back winners in Serie A on Sunday, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English League One, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Barnsley will look to move into the top half of the League One table on Tuesday night as they welcome struggling Northampton to Oakwell in a fixture that I’m keen to back the hosts to strike at least twice.
Conor Hourihane’s hosts bounced back from their 4-0 thrashing away at leaders Cardiff City at the weekend, as they secured a 3-1 victory over playoff-chasing Stevenage at Oakwell.
The Tykes have performed far better at home compared to on their travels, picking up 22 points from a possible 36 in front of their supporters (W7-D1-L4), winning each of their last two and four of their previous six.
Northampton suffered their fourth defeat on the bounce at weekend, as they were beaten 0-2 at home to Reading, a result that leaves Kevin Nolan’s visitors in 23rd position, two points adrift of safety.
The Cobblers have now taken just two points from their last eight league outings (W0-D2-L6), and travel to Yorkshire having lost five of their previous six League One contests on their travels (W0-D1-L5), shipping 13 goals across this six road trips.

Despite their position in the table, Barnsley are the joint fifth-highest scorers in League One, firing in 40 goals across their opening 25 matches, with an impressive 25 (63%) of them coming across their 12 home fixtures.
The Tykes have scored 2+ goals in eight (67%) of their fixtures in front of their supporters – including in five of their previous six (5-0, 3-2, 2-3, 0-2, 2-1 & 3-1) – and I’m backing them to bag another brace at home against a Northampton defence that has shipped multiple goals in six of their previous eight league outings, as well as in five of their last six on the road.
