Two clubs separated only by four points in the OBOS-ligaen table meet at the Fosshaugane Campus on Saturday evening as 12th-placed Sogndal entertain 10th-placed Egersunds in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Luis Pimenta’s hosts have scored 20 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Norwegian second tier this term, with 11 (55%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
After failing to score in each of their opening three league matches this season, The Juice Boilers have made the net blue in eight of their next nine – scoring on multiple occasions in seven (78%) of them – and will be confident of breaching an Egersunds’ defence that has kept a single clean sheet across their last nine league outings, shipping 21 goals.
Marius Kjorvik Johansen’s visitors have scored 19 goals across their opening 12 fixtures in the Norwegian second tier this campaign, with eight (42%) of them coming across their five road trips.
The Tigers have failed to score just three times in the league this season – finding the back of the net in all five of their away clashes – and will look to keep that trend going against a Sogndal defence that has recorded a solitary shutout in the league this season, shipping 29 goals.

Sogndal’s opening 12 matches in the Norwegian second tier this season have averaged an impressive 4.08 goals per game, with Over 3.5 Goals banking in eight (67%) of them, including in seven of their past eight.
Over 3.5 Goals has also been a winning selection in each of Egersunds’ last four and five of their past six league outings, and I’m backing that trend to continue in Western Norway on Saturday evening.
