Two clubs in contrasting form in the German 3. Liga meet at the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion on Sunday lunchtime as leaders Osnabruck travel to struggling Hoffenheim II in a fixture that I’m keen to back the visitors to strike at least twice.
Osnabruck’s fine run of form continued last time out, as they cruised to a 4-1 victory at home to mid-table Waldhof Mannheim.
That victory extended their unbeaten run in the German third tier to 10 matches (W8-D2-L0) – winning each of their past five – leaving Timo Schultz’s side five points clear at the top of the table.
Die Lila-Wiesen have also been tremendous on their travels in recent months, winning nine of their previous 11 league outings on their travels (W9-D1-L1), with their only dropped points coming against Hansa Rostock (2nd) and Verl (5th).
Hoffenheim II’s sharp decline in form continued last weekend, as they were beaten 1-0 away at Stuttgart II.
Stefan Kleineheismann’s hosts have now won just one and lost eight of their previous 10 encounters in the German third tier (W1-D1-L8), with their solitary win in that run coming away at relegation-threatened Ulm.

Osnabruck have scored 49 goals across their opening 29 matches in the German third tier this campaign, with 28 (57%) of them coming on their travels.
Timo Schultz’s visitors have scored 2+ goals in each of their past seven league outings – as well as in five of their last six and seven of their previous 10 encounters on the road – and look well placed to bah another double against a Hoffenheim II defence that has conceded 14 goals across their last five matches on home soil, shipping multiple goals in each of them.
