Following on from Thursday’s winner at Celtic Park, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to Serie A, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Roma vs Sassuolo
🇮🇹 Serie A
⏰ Saturday 7 November, 19:45
Two clubs in contrasting form in Serie A meet at the Olimpico on Saturday night as third-placed Roma entertain 17th-placed Sassuolo in what promises to be a high-scoring affair.
Gianpiero Gasperini’s hosts are the leading scorers in Serie A this season, firing in an impressive 28 goals across their opening 10 matches, with 14 (50%) of them coming on home soil.
The Giallorossi have only blanked away at Como in the league – scoring 2+ goals in each of their other nine Serie A contests – and are expected to add to their goal tally against a Sassuolo backline that has yet to register a clean sheet in Serie A this season, shipping a league-high 26 goals.
Despite their struggles, ex-Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani has seen his side score 16 goals in their opening 10 clashes in the Italian top flight this term, with six (38%) coming on the road.
The Neroverdi have only failed to score away at Como this term – scoring on multiple occasions in six of their past nine – and will look to breach a Roma defence that has shipped 10 goals across their previous four matches in all competitions.

Bet of the Day
Roma come into this clash as clear favourites to secure all three points, but despite their struggles this season, Sassuolo are more than capable of getting on the scoresheet.
Roma’s opening 14 Serie A and Champions League fixtures this season have averaged an eye-catching 4.00 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in 10 (71%) of them – including in each of their last five – whilst each of their past four have also seen goals at both ends.
Sassuolo are known as one of the most entertaining sides in Serie A over the last decade or so and this season has been no different, with the Neroverdi’s opening 10 Serie A contests this term averaging 4.20 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in nine (90%), whilst eight (80%) have also gone Over 2.5 Goals.
