Two clubs separated by a solitary point in the Championship table meet at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday night as sixth-placed Wrexham host seventh-placed Southampton in a fixture that appeals for goals.
Phil Parkinson’s hosts have scored 62 goals across their opening 40 matches since promotion to the Championship, with 36 (58%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Red Dragons have only blanked in just one of their opening 20 Championship contests on home soil – scoring on multiple occasions in 10 (50%) of them – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record at home against a Saints defence that has recorded a solitary shutout on their Championship travels this term.
Tonda Eckert’s visitors have scored 63 goals across their opening 39 matches since relegation to the Championship, with 34 (54%) of them coming on their travels.
The Saints have only failed to get on the scoresheet in just one of their opening 20 Championship encounters on the road this season – striking on multiple occasions in four of their opening past five – and will look to add to their impressive goal-tally away from home against a Wrexham backline that has kept just four clean sheets at home this season.

Wrexham’s opening 20 matches at home since promotion to the Championship have averaged an eye-catching 3.30 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in 11 (55%) of them, including in seven of their previous 10.
The Saints’ opening 20 away matches in the English second tier have averaged an impressive 3.40 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 14 (70%) of them – including in three of their last four – and another high-scoring encounter looks on the cards in north-east Wales on Tuesday night.
