After making it five successive winners at Ibrox on Tuesday, The third Football Bet of the Day of 2024 sees me focus on the opening match of Round 19 in Serie A.

Bologna will look to continue their strong record at home as they welcome away-day strugglers Genoa to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, and I’ve come up with a bet builder where I’ve got the hosts onside, as well as adding in cards.
Bologna suffered just their third defeat of the campaign and only their second since the opening day of the season last time out, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat away at Udinese. Nevertheless, Thiago Motta’s hosts currently occupy fifth spot in the Serie A table, which is mainly due to their strong home form. After an opening day defeat at home to Milan, The Rossoblú have gone on to win seven and draw one of their next eight Serie A matches in front of their supporters, only dropping points in that run in a 0-0 draw at home to last season’s Scudetto winners Napoli back at the end of September.
Genoa managed to stretch their unbeaten run in Serie A to three matches last time out, as they held league leaders Inter to a 1-1 draw at Marassi. Alberto Gilardino’s newly promoted visitors won 1-2 away at inconsistent Sassuolo in their previous away match, but prior to that, had lost six and drawn one of their previous seven road trips – and I don’t expect them to record back-to-back away wins in Emilia-Romagna tomorrow evening.

I was tempted to back the outright win, but instead, I’m happy to select the high-flying hosts to score at least once and avoid defeat, something they have achieved in seven of their last eight at home, and something that has also landed in seven of Genoa’s last eight away.
To nudge up the price, I’m happy to back the hosts to pick up a card and for the visitors to earn two or more. Bologna have been shown a card in each of their opening 18 Serie A contests this term but have also drawn two or more cards from 17/18 (94%) of their Serie A opponents, whilst Genoa have been issued with multiple cards in 16/18 (89%) of their Serie A encounters this campaign.
