Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Spanish second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Malaga CF vs Real Valladolid
🇪🇸 Segunda Division
⏰ Saturday 7 March, 20:00
In-form Malaga will look to continue their promotion push as they welcome relegation-threatened Real Valladolid to La Rosaleda in a fixture that I’m keen to get the hosts on side.
Malaga have bounced back from their 2-1 defeat away at Real Sociedad B by recording back-to-back 1-0 victories at home to Albacete and away at Granada to position them in fifth place, just two points behind second-placed CD Castellon.
Juan Francisco Funes’s men boast the division's second-best home record, picking up 31 points from a possible 42 (W9-D4-L1), winning each of their last five and eight of their previous 10 (W8-D2-L0).
Real Valladolid recorded just their second win from their last 11 Segunda fixtures last time out, as they defeated relegation-rivals Huesca 1-0 at home, leapfrogging them outside of the relegation zone in the process.
After losing just one of their opening six road trips, the Blanquivioletas have gone on to lose five of their next eight (W2-D1-L5) and four of their last six (W1-D1-L4).

Bet of the Day
Los Albicelestes have fired in 27 goals across their opening 14 league outings in front of their supporters this season, notching on multiple occasions in eight of their last 10 and nine of their past 12.
They take on a Real Valladolid defence that has conceded 16 goals across their previous six road trips – shipping 2+ goals in five of them – and I’m backing that trend to continue in Andalusia on Saturday night.
- Malaga CF to Score Over 1.5 Goals
- Pays 6/5 (bet365)
