Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Championship, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Coventry will look to strengthen their position at the top of the Championship table as they travel to Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon to take on playoff-chasing QPR in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Julien Stephan’s hosts have scored 40 goals across their opening 29 matches in the Championship this campaign, with an impressive 26 (65%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The R’s have found the back of the net in all but one of their 14 league outings in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in six of their previous seven – and will be confident of continuing their excellent goal-scoring form at home against a Coventry backline that kept just one clean sheet across their last 10 Championship encounters on their travels.
By some distance, Frank Lampard’s league leaders are the highest scores in the division, slamming in 62 goals across their opening 29 matches, with 31 (50%) of them coming on their travels.
The Sky Blues have failed to score in just four of their Championship fixtures this season – firing 2+ goals in 17 (59%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a QPR defence that’s kept a solitary shutout across their past 10 Championship contests on home soil, shipping multiple goals in six (60%) of them.

Coventry’s opening 29 Championship fixtures this campaign have averaged a league-high 3.28 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 18 (62%) of them – including in 10/15 (67%) of their away matches.
These two teams are more than capable going forward, but far from tight at the back, and I’m expecting another entertaining encounter at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.
