Resurgent Treaty United welcomes playoff-chasing Longford Town to Markets Field on Friday night in the Irish First Division in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Tommy Barrett’s hosts have scored 24 goals across their opening 24 league outings this season, with 15 (63%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
Only runaway league leaders Cork City have prevented the Shannonsiders from scoring in their last seven matches on home soil – scoring on multiple occasions in each of the last three – and will be confident of breaching a Longford defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their last 12 league outings, shipping 2+ goals in four of their past five.
Wayne Groves’ visitors have scored 28 goals across their opening 24 clashes in the Irish second tier this term, with 17 (61%) of them coming across their eight most recent encounters.
De Town have only blanked against Cork City across their last 11 league outings – impressively scoring 2+ goals in seven of their last eight matches – and will look to continue their hot streak in front of goal against a Treaty backline that is without a clean sheet in each of their last five on home soil.
