Nottingham Forest welcome Danish side Midtjylland to the City Ground on Thursday night in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie, in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Vitor Pereira's hosts have scored 19 goals across their opening 10 Europa League fixtures this campaign, with 12 (63%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Tricky Trees have only failed to score away at both Sturm Graz and Braga in Europe this season, striking on multiple occasions in seven (70%) of them – including in 4/5 (80%) of them on home soil – and will be confident of breaching a Midtjylland defence that has shipped 2+ goals in 3/4 (75%) of their away matches in the league phase.
Mike Tullberg’s visitors scored an impressive 18 goals across their eight matches in the league phase, with 10 (56%) of them coming on their travels.
The Wolves found the back of the net in all eight (100%) of their league phase contests – scoring two or more goals in six (75%) of them – and will look to add to their impressive goal-tally in Europe against a Forest backline without a clean sheet in each of their last four matches, shipping 2+ goals in each of their last three.

Midtjylland’s four league-phase matches on their travels this campaign have produced an impressive 17 goals, with Both Teams to Score landing in three (75%) of them (3-2, 3-0, 1-2 & 3-3).
One of those includes a five-goal thriller at the City Ground at the beginning of October, and I like the possibility of another entertaining encounter between these two sides on Thursday night.
