Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Swedish top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Orgryte vs Djurgarden
🇸🇪 Allsvenskan
⏰ Monday 20 July, 18:00
Two clubs at opposite ends of the Allsvenskan table meet in Gothenburg on Monday evening as second-from-bottom Orgryte entertains fifth-placed Djurgarden in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Andreas Holmberg’s hosts have scored 14 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Allsvenskan this season, with 11 (79%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Sallskapet have found the back of the net in all six (100%) of their league clashes in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasion sin each of their past three – and will look to continue that trend against a Djurgarden defence that has kept just two clean sheets since the opening day of the season, shipping two or more goals in four of their most recent five fixtures.
Despite playing at least a game fewer than every other team in the division, Jani Honkavaara’s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the Swedish top flight this term, firing in 26 goals across their opening 11 matches, with 10 (38%) of them coming across their four road trips.
The Iron Stoves have blanked just once in the league this season – striking on multiple occasions in five of their previous six – and will be confident of continuing their impressive goal-scoring form against an Orgryte backline that is without a clean sheet since the second game of the season, shipping 30 goals in that 10-game spell.

Bet of the Day
These two teams have been involved in a number of high-scoring encounters over the last few months, and I’m expecting that trend to continue in Gothenburg on Monday night.
Orgryte’s opening six Allsvenskan fixtures in front of their supporters this season have averaged an eye-catching 3.83 goals per game, with all six (100%) seeing both teams oblige, whilst each of the last three and four of the past five have gone Over 2.5 Goals.
Djurgarden’s opening 11 matches in the Swedish top flight this term have averaged a whopping 3.73 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in eight (73%) of them – including in each of their last six and seven of their past eight – whilst four of their previous five and seven of their last 10 have produced goals at both ends.
