Football Bet of the Day

Following on from Tuesday’s winner at the Racecourse Ground, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the goal-laden German third tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ SV Wehen Wiesbaden vs TSV Havelse

🇩🇪 3. Liga

⏰ Wednesday 8 April, 18:00

Goals look likely at the Brita-Arena on Wednesday night as relegation-threatened Havelse travel to eighth-placed Wehen Wiesbaden.

Daniel Scherning’s hosts have scored 42 goals across their opening 31 matches in the German 3. Liga this term, with 31 (74%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

The Wiesbaden-based outfit have blanked in just two of their opening 15 league outings on home soil – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their past eight – and will be confident of breaching a Havelse defence that has kept just one clean sheet since the opening day of the season, shipping 72 goals.

Samir Ferchichi’s visitors have scored 43 goals across their opening 31 fixtures since promotion to the German third tier, with 20 (47%) of them coming on their travels.

The Pelikans have failed to score in just five of their previous 30 league outings – finding the back of the net in 13 of their last 14 on their travels – and will look to continue their knack of getting on the scoresheet against a Wehen defence that has kept just three clean sheets at home this season, with just one of those coming across their past nine.

Bet of the Day

Wehen’s opening 15 encounters on home soil this campaign have averaged 3.13 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in six of their last eight and seven of their past 10.

Havelse’s opening 31 matches in the German third tier have averaged an eye-catching 3.71 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in each of the last five and 18 of the past 23, whilst 24 (77%) of their clashes have produced goals at both ends, including 13 of their past 14 on their travels.

Given Wehen’s scoring record at home and Havelse knack of getting on the scoresheet, coupled with their defensive vulnerabilities, I’m expecting a high-scoring encounter between these two clubs in Wiesbaden on Wednesday.
