Goals look guaranteed at Galway on Saturday night as seventh-placed Galway United host ninth-placed Waterford in the Irish Premier Division.
John Caulfield’s hosts have scored 32 goals across their opening 23 league outings, with 19 (59%) of them coming on home soil.
The Tribesmen have found the back of the net in all but one of their previous 10 encounters in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their last nine – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring form at home against a Waterford defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season, shipping a league-high 32 goals.
Graham Coughlan’s visitors have scored 33 goals across their opening 24 matches in the Irish top flight this term, with 24 (73%) of them coming across their previous 11 encounters.
After failing to score in five of their opening eight league cleashes this season, the Blues have found the back of the net in 13 of the next 16 – scoring 2+ goals in six of their last nine – and will be confident of continuing their goal-scoring form against a Galway defence that has kept just one clean sheet in the league all season, and none in each of their last 20 fixtures.

Galway’s previous nine LOI Premier Division matches in front of their supporters have averaged a whopping 4.11 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in eight (89%) of them.
Waterford’s previous 11 fixtures in the Irish top flight have averaged an equally impressive 4.18 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in nine (82%) of them.
The Blues have shipped 2+ goals in eight of those matches – as well as in 10/12 (83%) of their road trips this season – and that trend looks likely to continue against a Galway attack that has scored 2+ goals in seven of their past nine at home.
