Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Irish top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Galway United vs Dundalk
🇮🇪 Premier Division
⏰ Friday 12 June, 19:45
Goals look guaranteed at Galway on Friday night as seventh-placed Galway United host fourth-placed Dundalk in the Irish Premier Division.
John Caulfield’s hosts have scored 26 goals across their opening 18 league outings, with 14 (54%) of them coming on home soil.
The Tribesmen have found the back of the net in each of their previous seven encounters in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in five of their last six – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring form at home against a Dundalk defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season, shipping 18 goals.
Ciaran Kilduff’s visitors are the joint-highest scorers in the Irish top flight, firing in 31 goals across their opening 19 matches since promotion, with 13 (42%) of them coming on their travels.
The Lilywhites have failed to score just twice in the league this season – scoring 2+ goals in nine (47%) of them – and will be confident of getting on the scoresheet again against a Galway defence that has kept just one clean sheet in the league all season, and none in each of their last 15 fixtures.

Bet of the Day
After seeing just five goals scored across their opening four league outings this season, Galway’s next 14 have averaged an eye-catching 3.57 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in 12 (86%) of them – including in each of their previous 10 – whilst each of their previous six on home soil have also gone Over 2.5 Goals (2-2, 4-3, 2-1, 2-2, 1-3 & 2-4).
Dundalk’s opening 19 matches since promotion back to the Irish top flight have averaged 3.13 goals per game, with Both Both Teams to Score landing in 13 (68%) of them – including in 7/9 (78%) of their road trips – whilst six of their last nine and seven of their past 11 have gone Over 2.5 Goals.
Both previous meetings between the pair this season have produced seven goals, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking on each occasion – including a 2-2 draw when they last met at this venue back in March – and another high-scoring clash looks likely on Friday night.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
- Pays 10/11 (bet365)
