⚽️ Leeds United vs Manchester United
🏴 Premier League
⏰ Sunday 4 January, 12:30
Resurgent Leeds United welcome rivals Manchester United to Elland Road in the lunchtime kickoff on Sunday in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Daniel Farke’s men have scored 25 goals across their opening 19 matches since promotion back to the Premier League, with 17 (68%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Whites have failed to score just once at home in the Premier League this season – scoring on multiple occasions in each of their last three and in five of their past seven – and will be confident of breaching a Manchester United defence that is still yet to register a clean sheet on their travels in the Premier League this term, shipping two or more goals in five of their past eight.
Ruben Amorim’s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the Premier League, firing in 33 goals across their opening 19 matches this campaign, with 15 (45%) of them coming on their travels.
The Red Devils have failed to score in just one of their past 15 Premier League contests, notching on multiple occasions in nine (60%) of them – including in five of their last six away from home – and will look to trouble a Leeds backline that has kept a solitary shutout across their previous 16 Premier League contests.

Bet of the Day
After seeing just two goals scored across their opening two matches at Elland Road since promotion back to the Premier League, Leeds’s next seven have averaged an eye-catching 3.86 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in each of them (2-2, 1-2, 2-1, 1-2, 3-1, 3-3 & 4-1).
Manchester United’s opening nine away fixtures in the Premier League this season have averaged 3.44 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in each of their last eight (0-3, 1-3, 2-1, 2-2, 2-2, 2-1, 4-1, & 1-2).
Given both teams' records at both ends of the pitch, I’m expecting a high-scoring encounter at Elland Road on Sunday between these two rivals.
