After frustratingly falling a goal short in Norway on Thursday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the Scottish League One, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Playoff-chasing Alloa welcome relegation-threatened Annan to Recreation Park on Saturday afternoon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Andy Graham’s hosts have scored 50 goals across their opening 32 matches in the Scottish third tier this term, with 23 (46%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Wasps have made the net bulge in each of their previous 18 league outings – notching on multiple occasions in eight of their past nine – and will look to breach an Annan defence that has recorded a solitary shutout on their travels this season, shipping a league-high 34 goals.
Willie Gibson’s visitors have also scored 33 goals across their opening 32 matches in the Scottish third tier this term, with 18 (55%) of them coming on their travels.
After failing to score in five of their opening seven away matches this season, The Galabankies have found the back of the net in eight of their next nine – scoring 14 goals in those nine encounters – and will be confident of troubling an Alloa defence that has recorded a single shutout across their last nine league outings at home, shipping 2+ goals in six (67%) of them.

Annan’s opening 16 league fixtures on the road this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.25 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 10 (63%) of them – including in four of their last five and seven of their previous 10 – whilst seven of the last nine have seen goals at both ends.
What’s more, these two sides played out a seven-goal thriller in Dumfries and Galloway at the end of February, and I’m expecting another goal-heavy clash between the pair tomorrow.
