Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ RCD Mallorca vs Real Sociedad
🇪🇸 La Liga
⏰ Saturday 28 February, 17:30
La Liga entertainers Real Sociedad travel to Son Moix on Saturday night to take on relegation-threatened Mallorca in a fixture that appeals for goals.
Mallorca, who are now managed by ex-Bayern Munich and Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis, have scored 29 goals across their opening 25 La Liga clashes this season, with 19 (66%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Pirates have made the net bulge in each of their past 11 La Liga encounters on home soil – scoring 2+ goals in four of their last six – and will look to continue their goal-scoring record at home against a Real Sociedad defence that has registered a solitary shutout in La Liga this season.
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s visitors have scored 37 goals across their opening 25 La Liga fixtures this campaign, with 13 (35%) of them coming on their travels.
La Real have failed to score in just three of those 22 La Liga contests – notching on multiple occasions in five of their past seven – and will be confident of breaching a Mallorca backline that has kept just three clean sheets in La Liga this season.

Bet of the Day
Real Sociedad’s opening 25 La Liga contests this campaign have averaged 3.00 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in a league-high 21 (84%) of them, including in each of their last 10 and 16 of their past 17.
Mallorca’s opening 12 La Liga fixtures in front of their supporters have averaged 2.92 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in each of their last six and nine of their past 11 (1-1, 1-1, 1-0, 1-1, 1-0, 2-2, 3-1, 1-2, 3-2, 4-1 & 1-2) – and I’m backing that trend to continue in the Balearics on Saturday night.
