Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Irish second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Bray Wanderers vs Longford Town
🇮🇪 First Division
⏰ Friday 19 June, 19:45
Entertainment looks on the cards at Carlisle Grounds on Friday night as third-placed Bray Wanderers entertain fifth-placed Longford Town in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Paul Heffernan’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Irish First Division this season, firing in 34 goals across their opening 19 matches, with 21 (62%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Seagulls have blanked just twice in the league this season, with both of those coming on their travels – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their past eight on home soil – and will be confident of continuing their scintillating form in front of goal against a Longford defence without a clean sheet in each of their last seven league outings.
Wayne Groves’ visitors have scored just 18 goals across their opening 19 clashes in the Irish second tier this term, with 10 (56%) of them coming across their last six league outings.
De Town Have only failed to score against runaway league leaders Cork City across their previous six clashes – striking 2+ goals in each of their last three and four of their past five – and will look to continue their recent improvement in front of goal against a Bray backline that has recorded a solitary shutout across their previous 17 league outings.

Bet of the Day
Bray Wanderers’ opening 19 matches in the Irish second tier this season have averaged a league-high 3.16 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in 8/9 (89%) of their home clashes, as well as in 14 of their past 16 across all venues.
Longford Town’s matches are nowhere near as prolific as their hosts’, but their last six have averaged 3.00 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in five (83%) of them, and I’m backing that trend to continue at Carlisle Grounds on Friday night.
- Both Teams to Score
- Pays 5/6 (bet365)
