⚽️ Real Betis vs Rayo Vallecano

🇪🇸 La Liga

⏰ Saturday 21 February, 15:15

Real Betis will look to continue their push towards Champions League qualification tomorrow afternoon as they welcome away-day strugglers Rayo Vallecano to the Estadio La Cartuja.

Real Betis recorded their third consecutive victory in La Liga last Sunday, as they followed up wins at home to Valencia and away at Atletico Madrid by defeating Mallorca 1-2 at Son Moix.

That result means Manuel Pellegrini’s men remain in fifth position, but they are now just four points behind Atleti in fourth.

The Seville-based outfit have been strong at their temporary home this campaign, winning seven of their 11 La Liga contests in front of their supporters (W7-D1-L3), with that record changing to W5-D1-L0) when welcoming teams positioned in 10th and below.

Rayo put a halt to their three-game losing streak and won just for the second time across their previous 13 matches in La Liga last weekend, as they claimed a shock 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at neighbouring Butarque (the home of Leganes).

That surprise victory propelled Inigo Perez’s men outside of the relegation zone, but they are just one point above 18th-placed Mallorca, albeit with a game in hand.

Rayo have struggled on their travels this campaign, particularly in the last few months, with Los Franjirrojos picking up a solitary point across their previous six road trips (W0-D1-L5), failing to score in five of them.

Bet of the Day

As alluded to, Real Betis come into this clash in good form, and I’m backing them to record a fourth straight victory in La Liga last – as well as their fourth on the bounce at ‘home’ – against their poor-travelling visitors.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have won five of their six clashes when welcoming teams positioned in 10th and below in the La Liga table (W5-D1-L0), scoring 13 goals and conceding just twice.

Rayo, on the other hand, have lost seven of their eight away trips to top-half opposition (W1-D0-L7), and travel to Seville having shipped 14 goals and scoring just once in their last six away trips.
