Euro 2016: Mr Fixit’s Tips – 4 Days To Go

MRF_Euro2016

TODAY I’m turning my attention to group betting and for the first time there are six sections.

The top two in each group will reach the last 16 as well as the four best third-placed sides.

Finishing top of course will hand the winners an easier last-16 draw with four of them – the sides that finish top in Group A, B, C and D – up against third-placed finishers.

In Group A I can’t see past hosts France who I’ve tipped on the outrights so let’s focus on Group B which should be one of the toughest fought between England, Wales, Russia and Slovakia.

England are short-priced favourites and should take top spot if they beat Russia in their opener. Slip up there and the pressure will be massive with Wales next up in a game that could feature more brawn than beauty.

Group C sees two teams who qualified together from Scotland’s section – Germany and Poland – paired with Ukraine and Northern Ireland.

It was one win apiece in the qualifiers and the result between the Poles and Germans could settle this group with both likely to beat the other two teams.

In Group D it should be a fight between Spain and Croatia for first place with the Czechs and Turkey trying to pick up one of those best thirds.

Group E is possibly the toughest to call with fancied Belgium, tough to beat Italy and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden in there with the Republic of Ireland.

Again the Belgium v Italy result could decide this but don’t write off the Swedes.

Group F is wide open with favourites Portugal too reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo. Dark horses Austria are being backed to go well and Iceland could make a splash on their debut. Hungary could be the whipping boys though.

what are odds on northern Ireland not to finish bottom ?
they are unbeaten in 12 games, topped their qualifying group, only conceded 7 in those 12 games.
outside England, I think they have the best chance of qualifying of the other 3 home nations.
it might be as a best placed 3rd place team, but who cares.
they have the Leicester look about them for me, players with great team spirit, who play for their manager, and individually not the greatest players.

this is how I see the group

    matchday 1
    Poland v n Ireland draw
    Germany beat Ukraine

    matchday 2
    Ukraine v n Ireland draw
    Germany beat Poland

    matchday 3
    Poland beat Ukraine
which means n Ireland are 3rd irrespective of their game v Germany and hope for the best regarding best 3rd place,
but I think they will get a draw against an already qualified Germany

    Germany 7 points
    Poland 4 points
    n Ireland 3 points
    Ukraine 1 point

    OR
    Poland v Ukraine draw
    n ireland v Germany draw
    which means

    Germany 7
    n. Ireland 3
    Ukraine 2
    Poland 2
    which means they qualify
but if they lose to Germany, Poland Ukraine and n. Ireland all have 2, so god knows what happens in that scenario as head to head will be the same

hills have a special n Ireland coupon

      11-4 to qualify
      7-2 lose in last 16
      14-1 lose in quarter final

      total group points
      1 point 15-8
      2 points 13-2
      3 points 4-1

n Ireland to get 10 or more corners in group games evens
to score a header in the 3 games 5-2 (NAP)

and what about will grigg to be their highest scorer at 10-1.

      now sing along
“will griggs on fire, your defence is terrified, blah blah blah
im sure you have heard it on youtube.

elvis parsley, if you don’t think Nth Ireland will finish bottom back them to qualify. Only two third-placed sides will miss out.
I still think they’ll finish bottom – losing to Poland and Germany and maybe drawing with Ukraine at best.

just my take on the group bud.
no dosh has left my pocket on this as I am welsh bud, and my dosh will probably be lost on us, haha.

for the record I think England have too much for us up top, if your dinasoar manager plays them in their proper positions, so its about Slovakia next Saturday for me where avoiding defeat is imperative, as I think we need 4 points from the Slovakia and Russia games.

      time for zzzz now bud
      good night….

I think like most people everybody fancies France and Germany to pull through and lift the trophy.
Have been looking into the chances of the lesser teams and the easiest way to the final appears to be on the left hand side of the draw. This would interestingly see the likes of Austria and Poland in it should all go to plan. This would also see a fairly routine path for Spain should they finish first. All I will say is be wary of the Croats.
They have more world class in their squad then England and also the other outsiders in Poland, Austria and even Portugal. Should they prevail and finish first ahead of the Spanish in their group I for one will be backing them to the hilt to get to that final. Should they finish second they would look likely to meet the Germans in the quarter finals.
At 28/1 Croatia are certainly worth a small e/w bet to lift the trophy but an even more appealing bet is for Croatia to reach the quarter finals at 7/4.

after beating spain in qualifiers , and then beating germany and italy, i think slovakia could be overpriced at 9/1 to win the group. sml stake slovakia win group.
