Partick Thistle will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run in the Scottish Championship to seven matches when they face Ayr United at Firhill on Saturday afternoon.
Kris Doolan’s side are on course for another crack at the promotion playoffs after registering a statement 4-0 victory against fourth-placed Airdrie last weekend.
As for Ayr United, they are still in need of some points as things stand to be assured of safety following a 1-0 loss away at Dundee United last Saturday.
In fact, the Honest Men have done the majority of their best work at Somerset Park under Scott Brown’s stewardship, so in-form Thistle look a good value bet to take three points here at even-money (Bet 365).
That being said, I’m going to bypass the outright betting and instead back the hosts to score two or more goals at 19/20 on Ladbrokes.
The Firhill outfit have been thrilling second tier crowds throughout the season, with champions Dundee United the only side to outscore the Jags at this late juncture in the campaign.
What’s more, Partick have delivered multiple goals in a league-high 19 of their 34 league games this term, striking twice or more in each of their previous three meetings with latest opponents Ayr United.
Whilst there has been a bit of an upturn in Ayr’s performances since Scott Brown took charge at the turn of the year, keeping clean sheets has been a continuous issue.
The Somerset Park side have only managed to silence their opponents in one of their 14 outings since opting for a change in the dugout, with that solitary shutout coming against a hapless Arbroath side that are heading to League One.
With all of that in mind, coupled with the likelihood of Partick Thistle being fully motivated with a view to getting third spot sewn up, siding with the home team to score two or more goals holds plenty of appeal at 19/20 (Ladbrokes).
