Wednesday’s Football Tips: Crusaders need to go for it to salvage UEFA Conference League dream against Caernarfon Town

EUROPEAN club qualifiers take centre stage for punters today and the clash between Crusaders and Caernarfon Town is the pick of the ties.

Welsh club Caernarfon had a memorable European debut last week as they claimed a 2-0 victory in the first leg at The Oval after the bookies had written them off.

They now have a great chance to continue their adventure in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League but the tie certainly isn't over and Crusaders will believe they can turn things around back in Northern Ireland.

The Belfast club have much more European experience than their opponents tonight and if they can score early at Seaview then it will be interesting to see how Caernarfon Town cope.

Crusaders have no option but to attack as they bid to overturn that two-goal deficit and Betfred make them heavy 4/9 favourites for a win on the night with Caernarfon 5/1 outsiders despite their first-leg win.

With the Northern Irish side pushing forward they could leave gaps at the back so a Crusaders win on the night with BTTS might be worth a punt at 2/1.

Over 3.5 goals also pays 6/4 and that might be worth a look, especially if Crusaders can score early to light a fuse under the tie.

Larne v Rigas FS  Top Tips

There's a Champions League qualifier in Northern Ireland tonight as well and Larne find themselves in an even bigger hole against Latvian club Rigas FS.

Larne are 3-0 down from the first leg and that result probably wasn't a big surprise given Rigas reached the group stage of this competition two years ago.

They edged out Linfield in the play-offs that season and will now be confident of seeing off another Northern Irish side. But that match went all the way to penalties so the gap in quality isn't massive.

Betfred price Larne at 23/20 to win either half in tonight's second leg and that could be worth a punt.

Petroclub v Ordabasy Top Tips

The tightest tie in the Champions League qualifiers tonight is the one between Petroclub and Ordabasy in Moldova.

These sides battled out a 0-0 draw in Kazakhstan last week so it's all up for grabs in tonight's second leg.

Betfred can't separate these sides, pricing both at 13/8 for a win on the night, and in those situations the half-time draw is always a good option. It pays evens for this one.

Backing most goals to come after the break also appeals and that pays 23/20. Betting against BTTS could also be a wise move, although the odds aren't great at 4/5.
