Arsenal strolled into the Carbao Cup semi-finals wih a 5-1 win over League One's Sunderland and tonight another six teams vie for a place in the last four of the competition.

Both Tottenham and West Ham's squads should be in decent shape after suffering some outbreaks in recent weeks. David Moyes is desperate to mark his progress at the Hammers with some silverware while Antonio Conte, who was an FA Cup winner as Chelsea boss, is aiming to land Spurs' first piece of silverware since 2008.

There's little between the sides in the Premier League so no result would surprise here. West Ham look the value bet at 5/2 but it'll all hinge on the team news from North London.

Thomas Tuchel is enduring an usually tough time at the moment at Chelsea, who have won just one in five. He'll have up to eight players missing though including Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell.

Postponements have mean hat Brentford haven't played for almost two weeks. Thomas Frank‘s squad have a clean bill of health and he's expeced to put out a strong line-up. Again it's going to be crucial to keep an eye on the line-ups but if it's second string Chelsea line-up then 13/8 Brentford on the Draw No Bet market could be worth an interest.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers have bemoaned the fixture congestion in December so expect them to ring the changes against each other tonight. Liverpool's fringe players have proven more than capable of a number of occasions and can be backed at 4/5 to win inside 90 minutes. For accas, Over 2.5 looks solid at 3/5 – it's a bet that's landed in seven of the last eight meetings.

In Scotland Celtic's price has been absolutely hammered following the news of St Mirren's plight. The Buddies sought, but have been denied, permission to postpone the match after stating they were “unable to field a team for either match with a significant number of first-team players and staff unavailable

The Hoops are therefore just 1/7 at the time of writing and will no doubt go off even shorter. Over 1 Celtic Goal and Over 6 Celtic Corners stands an excellen chance at even money on a Bet365 BetBuilder.

    My £20-£200 personal challenge.

    First hurdle cleared with Bet1💫

    Bet2
Venezia v Lazio. Venezia don’t seem to have a problem scoring when playing on home soil and Lazio are a free scoring team either home or away. Mind you, Atlanta are a free scoring team and they were shocking in their 0:0 bore draw yesterday.
Big admirer of the way Sassuolo play their football. I fancy them to win at home today, but a safer choice is to have them to win or draw. (Double Chance)
With this horrible Omicron variant about, this does have a huge factor in team selections or whether games are postponed.

My Bet 2 of my challenge is
    Venezia v Lazio. btts (7/8)
Sassuolo to win or draw v Bologna (3/8)

    £31.42-£82.00

    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 St Johnstone v Ross C
    🔘 Bet: o3.5 cards/o1:5 St Johnstone cards – 23/25 (Unibet) NAP

Bottom v second bottom and so much at stake should hopefully see a feisty and closely fight game.

    – St Johnstone have been getting plenty of cards at home this season. They average 3 a game at McDiarmid Park and have recently hit: 3,4,5,4,2,3,3 at home. Only once in their 9 home games have they not had 2+ cards.

    – Ross are also seeing plenty of cards. They average 2.5 cards away from home and have seen: 4,4,2,2,1,4,3,2 in their away games.

    – To top it off, the ref tonight is the one and only Willie Collum who is averaging nearly 4.5 cards per game.

I contemplated swapping St J 2+ with Ross 2+ as I usually think away teams are more likely to be booked but St J’s home stats are so impressive, I’ve gone with them. Both teams to get o1.5 cards is 6/5 which has a great chance I think.

    Good luck all 👍🏻

      One more from me.

      🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Hibs v Aberdeen
      🔘 Bet 1: o3.5 cards – 3/4 (Unibet) NAP
      🔘 Bet 2: 3+ corners each team/1+ cards each team – 5/6 (Skybet) NB

I was surprised to see o3.5 as generous as 3/4 (it’s about 1/2 or 4/7 everywhere else). 3/4 is usually a bit low for me to NAP but I really fancy this so I’m putting it on here anyway.

      – Aberdeen’s away matches have been seeing plenty of cards. There’s been: 6,5,5,7,7,9,5,5 in away games.

      – Aberdeen single handedly average 3 cards away from home and the reverse fixture saw a whopping 8 cards. Teams come in to this in 6th and 7th place so hopefully a tight, closely fought game will bring out the cards.

      – Finally, tonight’s ref is A. muir who averages a whopping 5.5 cards per game.

As for the NB bet – that would have landed in 7/9 Aberdeen away games and 6/9 Hibs home games. Like the reverse leg, I can see this being another closely fought affair which gives this a great chance of landing I think.

      – Hibs average just under 7 corners at home and concede on average nearly 5. Aberdeen average just under 4 corners away.

Use we’re playing terrible and we had taken 27/29 points and yeah you’ve a point of course but be honest with yourself.
Covid shafting us again for an Old firm crowd and didn’t help anyone last year especially us but if it’s happens again although I can’t see it and use we’re top with us so much behind and getting beat off Hamilton at home and drawing wae $hite to be 13pts behind and we’re awarded it fair enough and you’d take it Craneguy.
As You say but mathematically it was possible n just never know but as I say if yer honest with yourself we were running away with it.
As for last season covid shafted us right from the off when they were making it up as they went.

      GL on 2nd January…you got a ticket? 😉 👎
