The first piece of European silverware is up for grabs tonight as Champions of Europe, Chelsea, meet Europa League winners Villarreal for the UEFA Super Cup in Belfast.
It'll be the Blues' fifth appearance in the contest but they've only won it once, back in 1998 when they qualified as Cup Winners' Cup Winners and defeated then European champions Real Madrid.
Villarreal had a brilliant European campaign last term, topping their group without defeat, then disposing of Red Bull Salzburg, Dynamo Kiev, Dinamo Zagreb then Arsenal before edging out Manchester United in an epic penatly shoot-out to lift the trophy.
Unai Emery certainly knows how to win a European trophy but this is one that's eluded him so far. The La Liga side are clear outsiders to claim the silverware at 12/5 and in a 50/50 clash that has to be the value compared to Chelsea at 1/3.
KevMac disagrees however and has earmaked a 15/8 way of getting on board with Thomas Tuchel's men in his match preview.
The one-off Super Cup matches have generally been entertaining affairs with both teams finding the net in eight of the last nine matches and five of the last six going to extra-time. BTTS is 1/1 and that looks like a good way to get involved in the game.
The Carabao Cup first round is in action again on Wednesday but it's notoriously difficult to call these games as Tuesday night proved. Mark Walker gives it a go though and is siding with QPR in their live match at Leyton Orient.
Five SPFL Premiership B-teams were in Challenge Cup action on Tuesday night with mixed results. Only Aberdeen won (away at Highland League Brora) inside 90 mins, St Mirren won on penalties against Kelty Hearts but three others lost.
Celtic and Rangers' kids face Annan Athletic and Dumbarton respectively on Wednesday. They, of course, already compete in the Lowland League and have made a good fist of things so far, sitting in the top 6 after five matches.
The young Hoops are even money to win at ‘home' to League Two side Annan. Rangers' youngsters are 12/5 to win at Dumbarton.

Glad I chose the ‘safer’ bet having watched the visitors send 11 efforts wide of the goal.
As much as Palmeiras are awesome to watch offensively, they have a terrible habit of overplaying it, which cost them the win.

1st leg Q/F of one of my favourite football tournaments, the Copa Libertadores, kicking off at 1.30am, between two Brazilian Serie A teams Sao Paulo and Palmeiras.
Bet365 odds always confuse me with games in the Americas, because they never seem to bear any relevance to the form, or league positions of the sides.
I know cup competitions are different, and this is a huge tournament, but the home side are sat one place above the drop zone, having won just one of their 7 home games, drawing 4 and losing the other 2, only managing 5 goals in the process.
Meanwhile, the visitors are currently sat second top, only 2 points behind the leaders, having won 4 on the road, scoring 10 goals from 7 away trips.
These two fought out a 0-0 in the league at the same venue just 10 days ago, and having watched that game, the word ‘fought’ being the operative word, with 6 yellows and one red being dished out.
None of the bookies I regularly use are offering a cards market, but if yours does, I suggest taking a punt. 👍
Bet365 make Sao Paulo favourites @29/20 👀, whilst Palmeiras are 21/10.

Brighton have never got more 44 points or more in the 4 seasons in the Premiership. They have the same squad from last year but have lost their best defender Ben White. The bookie may have priced this based on the teams xG stat from last season which showed that the team were “unlucky” and should have scored more goals than they did. With Maupay hardly playing in pre-season and Welbeck, Dan Burn and Lamptey injured I see this as a good bet.
Brighton create a hell of a lot of chances and if they were to put them away they would p*ss that total.
