An Iberian Derby on Saturday afternoon looks the most likely outcome from today's two matches in Qatar but both Spain and Portugal have some work to do to set-up a 41st meeting between the two neighbours.
On paper it looks like Spain sould cruise past Morocco but the North Africans proved in the group stages they'll be no pushovers. Wins over Belgium and Canada helped them to top Group F and they remain unbeaten in the competition.
They managed to stop both Croatia and Belgium from scoring so Spain may need to be patient to break them down.
Luis Enrique's men should prevail but at 8/15 are on the short side, especially when there's extra-time at play.
Instead let's back one of our favourite markets at this World Cup; No Goal Before… this time the line is set at 31:00 minutes at 5/6 and that's more appealing than the 6/4 available on there being no goals in the first 45 minutes. Only 19 goals were scored in the first half hour of Group Stage matches.
Portugal v Switzerland could be an intriguing one. A Seleรงรฃo's squad is brimful of talent, even outwith Cristiano Ronaldo, and that star quality should be the difference in the key moments of the game but the Swiss could cause them some problems.
Ronaldo's selection is far from guaranteed after an apparent outburst at being substituted against South Korea and his ego is in danger of derailing Portugal's chances, a concern that was being raised before the tournament started.
The sides have already met in the Nations League this year. Portugal were the victors in Lisbon by four goals to nil, before Switzerland gained some revenge with a 1-0 home win a week later. On netural territory things could be close again.
The bookies make the Portuguese favourites at 10/11 and that looks a fair price up against the 10/3 for the Swiss to win inside 90 minutes. Again it could be slow-burner with goals arriving late in the game so don't be surprised if the sides are level at the break (even money) and most goals arrive in the second half (10/11).
