MONDAY was a better day for punters with both Arsenal and AC Milan delivering the goods.
After a dull first half the Gunners finally put Newcastle to bed with three second half goals without reply. The win only moves Arsenal up to 10th but at least they're heading in the right direction, unlike Newcastle who are winless in nine and looking over their shoulder at the teams below them.
Tuesday's Tips
In the chaotic Pemier League it's Leicester City's chance to take the top spot if they can beat Chelsea at the King Power. The Foxes have lost just once in their last 10 but haven't quite convinced at home yet this season where they've won just four in nine.
Chelsea recorded a much needed win away to Fulham but it's not taken too much heat off boss Frank Lampard yet although a win on Tuesday would move them back in to the top six.
Surprisingly Chelsea are favourites to win at 7/5 while Leicester will have plenty of support at 15/8 (Bet365) despite that opportunity to take their place at the summit of the table.
In the earlier kick-off Big Sam Allardyce will be hoping take some points from one of his many former employers. His Baggies side visit West Ham as his great escape plan swings in to action. The Hammers have quietly gone about their business and could go seventh with a win but 4/7 looks too short for me.
Southampton gaffer Ralph Hasenhuttl has already suggested that members of Southampton's youth set-up will step in for their 3rd round FA Cup tie at home to Shrewsbury but they're still just 1/4 (Bet365) to win inside the 90.
There's almost full cards in the Championship, League One and League Two in England too. Watford look the best bet in the Championship at home, where they've been excellent, to Barnsley at 8/11.
Wayne Rooney is finding out how hard the management game is at Derby (5/2). They host Bournemouth (23/20), who could do with a win themselves, at Pride Park.
Watch out for most matches kicking-off at 7.00pm in the Leagues One and Two. Sunderland (3/5) and Portsmouth (8/15) appeal at relatively short prices in League One but it's measure of how tricky League Two's card is that every team is odds against in the six fixtures.
KevMac has cast his net as far as Germany where Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund meet in the Budesliga. This one is a hard one to predict. Obviously I do fancy corners and cards, as per almost every A-League match. Mariners are having one of their best starts in a season in a long time, winning their first 2 games. But I’m really not convinced by them, and I never rate hot-head Matt Simon (except to get carded). Wanderers have the far better team on paper, and have played decent football.
