Rivalries resume at the Etihad tonight as Manchester City and Liverpool clash in the EFL Cup.
After a lengthy break for the World Cup both squads are in a state of flux so we could see very different line-ups for this quarter-final tie.
Manchester City provided more World Cup players (16) than any other club and a handful are easing their way back in to training and not expected to feature. Pep Guardiola also pointed to the likes of Gomez, Haaland, Mahrez, and Palmer who might miss out after an extended time away.
Liverpool are likely to be without Virgil van Dijk and France centre-back Ibrahima Konate.
10 points separate the two sides in the Premier League and Jurgen Klopp will hope that the enforced break will give his side the chance to reset their season. A win tonight could go a long way to convincing themselves that they can close the gap in the league and mount some kind of challenge to the defending champions.

The Reds, who have won the previous three meetings between the sides and are unbeaten in the last five, look best value here.
