Italy are just two wins away from returning to the World Cup for the first time since 2014, the first of which comes against Northern Ireland in a play-off semi-final on Thursday night.
The Azzurri won six of their eight group stage matches but had to settle for second place behind a rampant Norway.
Excluding their home clash with the Norwegians, Italy scored multiple goals in each of their other three fixtures in front of their own supporters.
That doesn’t bode well for Northern Ireland, who conceded three goals away to another European heavyweight, Germany, during the group stage.
