LIVERPOOL'S season is threatening to unravel but if they can pull off another epic European comeback tonight it will given them a timely shot of adrenalin heading down the home straight.
Hopes of winning the Premier League in Jurgen Klopp's final season have suffered a massive blow in the last couple of weeks, with five points dropped in games with Manchester United and Crystal Palace.
And their chances of lifting the Europa League trophy, the only major of piece of silverware missing from Klopp's Anfield CV, are now slim after a disastrous 3-0 loss to Atalanta at Anfield last Thursday.
It would be foolish to write Liverpool off given they recovered from 3-0 down at half-time in the 2005 Champions League Final then overturned the same deficit in the semi-final against Barcelona 14 years later.
But the bookies still make Atalanta heavy favourites to go through at 1/6 (VBet) while the Anfield giants are 9/2 with most firms to turn it around.
The Reds need to go for it and their opponents are a threat on the break so it bodes well for goals at both ends. Over 1.5 first-half strikes looks good at 11/10 with McBookie while over 3.5 match goals is the same price at Paddy Power.
Xabi Alonso was touted as Klopp's successor but is staying at Bayer Leverkusen and his incredible side are still on track for an invincible season.
