SWEDEN v ENGLAND
Live on BBC 1. Saturday July 7, kick-off 3pm
IT'S unlikely to be pretty as England lay siege to Sweden's yellow wall on the Samara battleground.
The Swedes are a stubborn bunch and their rigid old-school 4-4-2 system may not be pleasing on the eye but has taken them to unexpected heights this summer.
They topped their group ahead of Germany and Mexico then sank Switzerland, after already accounting for Holland and Italy on the road to Russia, and will happily park the bus and try to drive England crazy with frustration in their search for a goal.
England head into the game on a wave of euphoria after squeaking past Colombia by winning a World Cup shootout for the first time.
They'll be eyeing a fast start but it may take a while to break down a Swedish side who've conceded just one goal so far and found the net in all four games.
England have yet to keep a clean sheet but their attacking play has looked good in patches and they also have some decent set-piece threats in the likes of John Stones and Harry Maguire. The big Leicester stopper is usually in the thick of the penalty-box action when the ball is slung in and looks a decent anytime scorer bet.
Still, a stuffy first half beckons and it well took more than 90 minutes to separate these two although I'm backing Southgate's men to find a way through in regulation time.
