After a packed Saturday, Ligue 1 continues with three high-profile fixtures on Sunday, featuring most of the teams from last season’s top six.
Lille will kick off the day with their away trip to Angers, before Monaco head to Le Havre. The highlight of the weekend sees Rennes take on champions PSG, who will be fired up after losing the Super Cup a week ago.

Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions
Angers vs. Lille (2pm)
Lille achieved their highest league finish last season since winning the title five years ago, and are now heading into the new season with a new manager and several new signings.
Angers finished last season dangerously close to the relegation zone, so any improvement is welcome, although a strong start looks difficult to achieve after four consecutive defeats against Lille in recent years.
Eight of the last 10 head-to-head matches have ended with fewer than three goals, with Lille keeping a clean sheet in four consecutive encounters. I certainly don’t expect an easy match for the Mastiffs, but a 1–0 win is quite likely.
Angers vs. Lille top betting tip: Lille to win
Le Havre vs. Monaco (4:15pm)
Le Havre avoided relegation at the last minute last season, whilst Monaco only just qualified for European competition and face a crucial Conference League return leg next week.
The Monegasques have made a number of changes, including a new manager, and looked quite good in their pre-season friendlies. The team looks particularly strong in attack, which gives us reason to expect goals in this match.
Le Havre still have problems at the back, and I reckon Monaco will capitalise on that. I’ll back the away win and Over 1.5 Monaco goals.
Le Havre vs. Monaco top betting tip: Monaco to win, Over 1.5 Monaco goals
Rennes vs. PSG (7:45pm)
The champions began the season with a win and a defeat, winning the UEFA Super Cup and losing the French Super Cup to Lens following one of their worst performances in years.
For Rennes, this will be their first competitive match, which could prove problematic, as the Parisians are already warmed up and hitting their stride. Furthermore, Rennes’ recent friendlies have highlighted some very serious defensive problems.
No top-flight side has won more matches against PSG in the 21st century than Rennes, but I doubt they’ll manage such a result here. I do, however, expect a high-scoring match with goals from both sides.
