Ayr United vs Raith Rovers (Saturday, 15:00)
Early Scottish Championship pacesetters Ayr United square off with Raith Rovers at Somerset Park on Saturday afternoon.
Scott Brown’s side have made a flying start to the new season, making it three wins from three with last week’s 3-2 comeback win over Hamilton.
As for Raith Rovers, they parted company with manager Ian Murray in the aftermath of their season-opening 1-0 loss at Airdrie before bouncing back the following weekend with a narrow 1-0 win over Partick Thistle.
With that being the case, it's no real surprise to see high-flying Ayr United going into this clash as odds-on 10/11 favourites, though there is an attractive 19/20 available for Over 2.5 Goals on Bet 365.
While the campaign is still in its infancy, Ayr have clearly upped their attacking output under boss Scott Brown thus far, hitting 10 goals across their opening three league games of the season.
What’s more, the Honest Men fired in nine strikes across their four Scottish League Cup group games, with three of those matches breaking the over 2.5 goal barrier.
While Brown’s boys have deservedly earned plenty of positive plaudits for their proactive approach to date, they are not leak proof themselves at the other end of the park.
Both Hamilton and Buckie have scored multiple goals on their respective visits to Somerset Park in recent weeks, so a hugely talented Raith Rovers squad could definitely land a blow of their own on the home defence.
It’s also worth noting that Over 2.5 Goals would have been the right wager in each of the four league meetings between the two sides last season, one of which was a frantic 4-4 draw back in December.
Thus, all the ingredients appear to be in-place for another entertaining contest in Ayrshire, making Over 2.5 Goals a value option at 19/20 on Bet 365.
