Aston Villa were excellent in their 1-0 win over Manchester City in midweek and put their top four credentials on the line again this evening when league leaders Arsenal are the visitors.
Villa Park is currently the toughest venue to go to in the top flight but Villa still look a bit of value at 12/5 to put a spanner in the Gunners’ title challenge and potentially move one point off the top.
Despite some of the doom and gloom around Manchester United Erik ten Hag has picked up Manager of the Month and Harry Maguire Player of the Month. Five of their six defeats have come against teams in the top eight so they’ve fared well against teams in the lower reaches and can win again today against Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Double them up with Wolves who host a Nottingham Forest side that have lost their last four. Gary O’Neil’s men edged out Burnley in midweek and that could signal an upturn in luck for his side.
The Man Utd & Wolves double pays just over 9/5.
Marti Cifuentes has made a quick impact as new boss of QPR. After a run 12 without a win Rangers have won back-to-back matches for the first time this season and will be buzzing ahead of the visit from Hull City today.
The Tigers’ only win in their last five away from home came at struggling Birmingham and they’ve conceded two or more in four of those. QPR are 11/5 to win but we can cash in the Rs to score two to more for a second week running at 2/1.
We should see goals at Vicarage Road where two sides in good form meet. Watford have lost just one of their last ten – to Leicester, whilst Southampton are unbeaten in 11.
Watford’s last six Championship matches have finished 2-2, 2-3, 1-0, 2-2, 5-0 and 3-2 so Over 2.5 looks a good option at 19/20.
Dip in to League Two for more Over 2.5 chances. Accrington v Doncaster and Tranmere v Newport look the stand-out candidates.
Wrexham will be aiming to keep apace with Stockport at the top and can secure three points at struggling Forest Green. A couple of Wrexham goals pays 4/7.
There are a few managers feeling the heat in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.
Barry Robson’s Aberdeen are second bottom of the table and they host 3rd top Hearts this afternoon. The Jambos had won four win a row prior to a midweek defeat to Rangers whereas Aberdeen have just one win in seven in the league. Despite that the bookies make the Dons 8/5 favourites to take the three points at Pittodrie, something they’ve done just once in six attempt this season, The value therefore has to be with the visitors at 13/8.
After a good start to the season things have gone pear-shaped for Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell. The Steelmen are winless in 12 and 3-0 midweek defeat to Ross County has piled on the pressure. St Johnstone‘s tails will be up after a midweek win over St Mirren. Craig Levein appears to be getting the best out of a squad that underperformed under the previous manager and the Saintees won't be without their backers at 5/2.
Livingston, under David Martindale, are in the worst shape of all. On top of six straight defeats they’ve failed to score in their last five and have managed just one goal from open play in their last 10.
Visitors Hibs have been going well under Nick Montgomery, their only two defeats in his 12 in charge coming against Celtic and Rangers. They’ve been popular with punters this week, shortening from 13/10 to 11/10 and like to go off smaller than that.
A few bigger prices catch the eye lower down the leagues. Inverness’s unbeaten start under Duncan Ferguson was ended by conceded two late goals to Raith Rovers in midweek but they look well priced at 15/8 to bounce back at Queen’s Park who are sliding down the table.
Edinburgh City were on the weekend shortlist at 12/5 but they’ve drifted like a barge upon news that Michael McIndoe may have to turn his U20 squad to fulfil the fixture due to a cash crisis at the club. They’re now 6/1 which will be a massive price if those rumours are unfounded.

Liverpool face a traditionally difficult trip to Selhurst Park to face a hungery Palace team that are well versed in putting a spanner in the Liverpool title charge. Again this is a must win for the Reds as it puts them top of the league ahead of the late kick off between Villa & Arsenal. For all these reasons I’m backing Palace not to lose, Klopp will probably go full strenght on Thursday nights dead rubber. Finding the back of the net at lunch time will be a difficult task if present history is anything to go by and Mo Salah couldn’t buy a goal on his 400k a week wages let alone score one if he tried. Tell Klopp to stick Harvey in on the right hand side and then sit back and watch the side purrr in to action, pure class.
Palace not to lose priced @ 8/5.
Get on it like a car bonnet.
Arsenal to beat Villa priced @ even money. Everyone knows Villa were lucky to win last time out.
I’M an Arsenal fanatic but Villa were not lucky to win ,they played better than City
Played better than city but still needed a deflected goal to win . Draw for me
Curious question to all – is anybody else falling out of love with betting? The markets are so skinny these days it’s zapping all the fun out of it.
I agree Danny I usually do both teams to score but the value has got so bad that it is hard to find value anymore and I find it hard to put tips up on here now because I only bet when the value is in our favour
In play is the way to go. Also maybe change your markets. Also found the in play market to be worth a bash. Had Luton against Liverpool In play. Man utd + villa in play. And women’s football. Also this website, the admin has posted a good number of winners in the last week or 2.
Sorry for rambling 👍
@Gmc1976 – you alluded to “maybe change your markets”, that is half the reason I am becoming more disinterested. We all bet on the markets we like and/or feel most comfortable with and having to change those markets in search for value just gives the bookies even more of an edge as it is out of the pundits comfort zone. I agree with you on in-play providing the pundit is sharp with numbers, there is definitely value to be had but on the flip side, that means you have to be active throughout the game. I like to do other things than just loitering around seeing the odds fluctuate.
I work 3 days, look after a 3 year old, other days so there’s certainly been bets I’ve missed. Before saying this I don’t have this luck all the time but this week I’ve had a 7-0, 8-0 and 9-0. All random games. Not for loads but covers my bets for a bit. Also the result and btts market I’ve had a bit of luck. And you only need a 3£ bet. I’ve started checking next day fixtures before bed….. Again soz for rambling. 👍
This season I have noted how short goals market prices have got. 8/11s are now 8/15 etc they really are getting greedy
I agree lads you need to be doing atleast doubles or trebles to be getting decent prices , my advice would be just small stakes and slightly bigger odds stuff
HILLS are the worst offenders recently.
Their prices on BTTS now mirror SKYBET, don’t know what that’s all about, and SKYBET were skinny before, always a notch lower.
I find a game that they would have priced at EVENS before is now 10-11, 10-11 before now 4-5 and so on.
Even the low grade games in strange places I look for are now under priced, rarely see BTTS over 6-4 now even when one of the teams is 1-25 to win ☹️
Could not agree more elvis. They are mirroring sky now hills used to be very good on goals markets
I’d be wary of betting against Liverpool today Palace are playing poor football. Lacked any kind of hunger going forward recently eduard in the news for scoring 6 or 7 but hes rubbish. 20m record signing França stays on the bench and Jordan ayew to work his socks off yet again to no avail and a comfortably liverpool win for me today. even with Liverpool second string possibly.
I like the
5/2 for Liverpool to win both halves.
Il have a few hundred on that today and a trebly of

Rubyhardie, sent post yesterday morning! 2+tips are Qpr+Edinburgh ( before l read about Edinburgh players wages problem) btts double of Reading +Wimbledon and overs at Grimsby, Morecambe and Forest Green which is now off. I’m going to replace Edinburgh with East Fife and Forest Green game with Tranmere. Cheers,Desmond
Bets were down on Wednesday night ❌ , a lack of cards and players being taken off early didn’t help! Barely had a minute since but thought I’d get this up for today.
Goals double @ 11/8 (bet365) Nap/Nb
Young boys u19 vs Basel u19 over 3.5mgs
Strathspey Thistle vs Forres over 2.5mgs
Small stakes
Above two games
Over 4.5mgs double @ 5.9/1 (bet365)
All Swiss u19 games over 2.5mgs @ 2.7/1 (bet365)
Strathspey Thistle need little introduction goals wise, while I have still been keeping an eye on the Swiss u19 games and still have a fair few goals, with the Young boys game interesting me the most.
Good luck 🤞
Many thanks for reply Desmond. Good luck today everyone 🤞🏻
Villa v Arsenal 17.30 KO
Great price, City managed just 2 SOT & 0 corners at Villa midweek but can’t see the same happening in the late KO.
Saka & Jesus SOT – 5/2 PP
Betfair also doing BB offer at Villa game
In play currently 0-0 35mins played
Young Boys u19s v Basel u19s
Over 0.5 1st half goals 13/8
Looking to see where bookies set Urugay to win Copa America (US odds appear to be 6-1). Playing well under Bielsa and have been put in lower half of draw with an out of form Brazil the main obstacle to getting to the final. Final the big spanner in the works as they are likely to face the Messi show and the bent refereeing that comes with that, especially in the States. Final to be Argentina v Uruguay could be another attractive bet depending on odds – Argentina v Brazil final will take most money, meaning could be some value on Uruguay making it.
Guys please advise.
I placed a bet with Betfair in the Crystal Palace vs Liverpool game that Endo would be booked at half time. He was subbed so never started the 2nd half. Yet they have settled this as a loss.
Bet voided and money returned
30 + booking points in each of the SPL games 6/4

PP special winner at 5/2. Banking £30 and couple wee bets inplay…

Both keepers to make 10 saves between them 18/1 (3 at HT)
Pas De La Casa
🇦🇩
Atlètic Club d’Escaldes
19:30
Andorran Primera Division
BOTH teams to score 11-10 SKYBET.. NAP… ***
Away team 1-4 to win which opens the door hopefully for BTTS as they concede often.
They have conceded in 15 of last 16 games.
Pas de la casa are new to this league and are doing ok sitting 4th bottom. Avoiding relegation would be seen as a success for this team.
*** These have met twice this year, once in the cup and once in the league..
Jan 2023
Escalades 0 Pas de la casa 3 in the cup
sep 2023
Escalades 1 Pas de la casa 1 in the league.
So despite escaldes being 1-4 to win hopefully Pas de la casa can net for a 3rd time v escaldes ***
Prediction (god knows) it’s Andorra FFS 🤣.

Digne & Rice 18/1 winner 👍👍👍
Kamara off subbed so betfair BB loser
