Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the EFL, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by only two points and two places in the League Two table meet at Plough Lane on Saturday afternoon as 10th-placed Wimbledon play host to Swindon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Johnnie Jackson’s hosts have scored 29 goals across their opening 19 matches in League Two this term, with 17 (59%) of them coming at home. The Dons have found the back of the net in 8/9 (89%) of their league outings in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasions in five of their last six – and will look to trouble a Swindon backline that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their 11 road trips, shipping two or more goals in seven (64%) of them.
Michael Flynn’s visitors are the leading scorers in the English fourth-tier, slamming in 43 goals across their opening 20 matches, with 20 (47%) of them coming on their travels. The Robins have made the net bulge in 17/20 (85%) of their league contests – scoring on multiple occasions in 14 (70%) of them – and will be confident of troubling a Dons defence that has recorded a single clean sheet at home this season, conceding two or more goals in four of their last seven.

Swindon’s opening 11 fixtures on the road in League Two this season are averaging 4.00 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals clicking in eight (73%) of them – and given the same has landed in five of AFC Wimbledon’s previous seven league outings on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be at least three goals, with both teams contributing at Plough Lane on Saturday afternoon in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
