IT might be a cliche but we're approaching the business end of the season with plenty to play for at the top, bottom and just about everything inbetween across the leagues.
The Jesse Marsch era at Leeds kicks-off at lunchtime today with a visit to Leicester City. The Foxes' win at Burnley gave them some breathing space and can start looking up the table again rather than over their shoulder. A win today could take them back in to the top half of the table.
Marsch's first task will be to stop Leeds conceding goals. They've shipped 20 in their last five and are in danger of being the first team since 1964 to conceded three or more in six consecutive top flight matches. Over 2.5 Leicester goals is a 7/4 shot at Bet365.
Bouyed by that win in midweek and the return of talisman Jamie Vardy, Leicester should be good for all three points here at 3/4.
Newcastle look too big to win at home to Brighton at 7/4. The Magpies have are the second most in-form team behind Liverpool at the moment, winning 14 points from the last 18 available.
The Seagulls on the other hand are on their worst run of the season, winning just once in their last eight including an FA Cup exit to Spurs.
Newcastle have scored in all but two of their 13 home matches, only drawing blank against Man City and Chelsea who boast the best defences in the league, so goals could be a way of attacking this one and two Newcastle goals also pays 7/4 (Bet365).
Rangers v Aberdeen is match of the day in Scotland and it could be another fiesty one. The Dons, who find themselves in 10th place, know how to raise their game against the Gers and despite a disappointing season remain unbeaten against the champions.
The brilliant Mark O'Haire highlighted that 90% of Rangers' games sees their opponents pick up two or more bookings, the highest tally in the UK. So Aberdeen cards could be worth a play. The Dons have had four players carded in both games against Rangers this season and Over two pays a tempting 1/1 at Bet365.
St Johnstone are battling for Premiership survival and have a very good record at Easter Road so could be today's outsider at 4/1. Shaun Maloney seems to have steadied the ship at Hibs but they've failed to score in their last two games. They've also got a serious injury crisis with up to 10 players likely to be unavailable.
Motherwell could also take advantage of Dundee's squad problems. Mark McGhee could be without up to six players including Charlie Adam and Zac Rudden as his squad has been hit by a Covid outbreak. Well to score two at 11/10 appeals.

Torshavn and Klaksvik playing the two newly promoted teams in the faroes today.
Klaksvik won the league last season with 99 goals, averaging 3.6 per game. There has been a few changes in the squad but have kept most players including their top scorer. Hoping team goals markets appear and hills probably the best option to cover that, nothing showing yet but will add if they do appear for either game.
When playing weaker teams in the league last season evens on over 3.5tgs for Klaksvik was generous at points, so 21/20 to win and over 3.5mgs is the best option so far.
Paksi, Fredrikstad & Klaksvik have been my go to teams for a couple of years for goals. The first two teams now a fairly regular fixture on here for goals, and Klaksvik are up there in my opinion. Although it’s the first game of the season I’m hoping it isn’t a slow start.

I’m running out of superlatives to describe Paksi. What a team! Over 2.5 in 21/22 league games and in 11/11 home games. No more research needed for o2.5. Annoyingly, we’ve been priced out a bit this week. 10/11 for over 3.5 goals and 7/10 for o2.5 BTTS/1+ FHG are both too short. But I’ve found value in the FHG market.
After doing some digging, I noticed that there’s often very early goals in Paksi games. I dug a bit deeper and discovered 18/22 Paksi games this season have seen 2+ first half goals. The last 6 Paksi home games have all seen 2+ first half goals.
Even money for something with an 82% success rate has to be taken on in my opinion.
Bayern have gone o2.5 in 21/24 games and in 11/12 home games. The only time they failed to go o2.5 at home was because Arminia put 11 men behind the ball. Leverkusen won’t do that. Their last 5 away games have seen an incredible 25 goals, averaging 5 goals per game. (3-2, 2-5, 1-2, 2-1, 5-2). I can see them contributing here.

Enfield are something else. They’ve seen 124 goals in their 31 league games. They’ve gone o2.5 in 10 of their last 11 home games and in 24 of their last 26 games. They face an East Thurrock side who’ve conceded 21 goals in their last 5 away games. It’s all set for goals. A nice odds against double.

This is a very generous price indeed. It would usually be a NAP but I’ve already got 2 this weekend. Aberdeen are a shadow of themselves and I think the bookies are pricing this up because it’s Aberdeen. Gone are the days where they’re Scotlands third best team. They’re 10th for a reason this season.
Rangers have to go all out to chase down Celtic’s 3 point lead and I can see them going after Aberdeen from the off.
Rangers average a shade under 9 corners at home (8.97) and after a mini corner slump, have since hit 15,7,10,7 in their last 4 homes.
Aberdeen are poor on the road and have been conceding plenty of corners lately. Their last 3 aways they’ve conceded: 7 v Hearts, 9 v Motherwell and 8 v Livingston. I’d be surprised if they didn’t concede 7 at Ibrox.
I contemplated Rangers -3 corner handicap or a rangers -2 first half corner handicap but have gone for 7+ corners as I’ve got a feeling Aberdeen will have a go tomorrow. They usually do so could get a few themselves as well as conceding plenty.

Well, what a frustrating day. Stuttgart game flew in, finishing 3-2 but Atalanta couldn’t find a way past Roma to down the double.
The 2 singles also close, Leverkusen gave Munich a good game but seemed happy with a point rather than going for a second. Brugge went 2-0 up but pegged back to 2-2 and that is how that finished.

No joy with goals bets today in the EPL Liverpool weren’t firing on all cylinders and the Leicester game was poor.Managed to land Leicester to win at 3/4 better than nothing.Have to say cracking shout at admin on Newcastle 2+ goals against Brighton as well.

Onto tomorrow morning in oz and Wellington Phoenix take on Melbourne city in the first game. I’d agree with those. It’s a bogey ground for us goals are to be avoided, there will most likely be lots of possession lots of efforts at goal. Livingston will sit in and show little appetite for crossing the halfway line much like st mirren and hibs. I’m putting up 6 Celtic corners 2 livi cards tomorrow. Well done today btw 🤙🏻
